EuroAfri Link Goals for 2026: Strengthening Europe and Africa Trade
EuroAfri Link Goals for 2026: Strengthening Europe and Africa Trade
Welcome 2026!
As we welcome 2026, EuroAfri Link’s goal is to significantly strengthen the dynamic trading relationship between Europe and Africa. Rooted in shared geography and history, this partnership is entering a new phase, shaped by ever-evolving global economic realities, sustainability imperatives, and a renewed focus on mutual benefit. Our 2026 agenda is very clear: unlock market access, accelerate sustainable investment, and turn cooperation into measurable impact for businesses and communities on both continents. Here are our goals for 2026!

Opening the EU Market to African Agri Exporters
A central pillar of EuroAfri Link’s 2026 strategy is enabling African agri exporters to access the EU market more easily and competitively, especially through the Netherlands, one of the world’s most important gateways for fruit and vegetable trade. With an agrifood market valued at €2.4 trillion, the EU offers enormous growth potential for African producers. EuroAfri Link helps exporters convert that potential into reality by focusing on:
- Navigating EU trade regulations, certification requirements, and non tariff barriers
- Aligning production with European consumer preferences and quality standards
- Promoting high value African products such as vanilla, premium pineapples (MD2 and Sugarloaf), spices, and specialty crops
Through targeted advisory services, handholding, capacity building, and market intelligence, we ensure African agri products are compliant with EU regulations and standards, competitive, and ready for long term success in Europe.
Connecting Two Way Trade From Europe to Africa
Trade is strongest when it flows in both directions. Alongside African exports to Europe, EuroAfri Link supports the introduction of European products into African markets, including Dutch potatoes, onions, seeds, powdered milk, apples, agri transport trucks and more.
These inputs strengthen local food systems and logistics, helping move goods efficiently from farm gates to warehouses and ports. To make this possible, EuroAfri Link works closely with logistics partners, recognizing that speed, reliability, and cold chain efficiency are critical success factors in global trade.
From Projects to Impact: Turning Results into Lasting Change
European funding programs such as Horizon Europe, EU Green Deal and Erasmus+ are shifting focus, from short term project results to long term adoption, uptake, and real world use. EuroAfri Link fully embraces this evolution.
We integrate Behaviour Change Design into our initiatives by:
- Prioritizing projects with clear commercial and market viability
- Ensuring continuity beyond the life of funded projects
- Supporting solutions that generate durable economic value for both EU and African businesses
Our goal is simple: move from pilots to scale, from ideas to adoption, and from funding to impact.
Aligning with the EU–Africa Strategic Partnership
EuroAfri Link’s 2026 vision aligns closely with the five pillars of the EU–Africa Strategy:
1.Green transition and energy access
2.Digital transformation
3.Sustainable growth and job creation
4.Peace and governance
5.Migration and mobility
By keeping people, climate resilience, and economic inclusion at the center of trade, we help ensure growth that is not only profitable, but also responsible and resilient.
Energy Investment and the Green Transition
Africa’s vast renewable energy potential and youthful workforce position the continent as a strategic partner in Europe’s green transition. EuroAfri Link works to increase Africa’s attractiveness to European investors by advocating for:
•Clear national energy transition strategies and investment roadmaps
•Transparent and predictable regulatory frameworks
•Faster project negotiations and reduced investor risk
•Strong integration of local workforce development and skills transfer
We support energy projects that meet domestic demand while enabling responsible export opportunities, creating shared value for Europe and Africa alike.
Advancing Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems
EuroAfri Link actively engages with policymakers, farmers, EU buyers, investors, and industry leaders to shape food systems that are:
•Climate smart and nature positive
•Economically viable for producers and investors
•Resilient to geopolitical, environmental, and economic shocks
By connecting stakeholders across the agri food value chain, we accelerate innovation, investment, and trust.
